“Go and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19)
The Mission: Global Disciples is an initiative to mobilize everyday SDA Christians to build authentic friendships with people worldwide and make disciples of Jesus Christ across cultures through digital connections.
The Vision: Every person having an opportunity to encounter Jesus through genuine friendship with a faithful follower of Christ.
The Values: The Initiative is build on Biblical Foundation and rooted in Scripture and committed to the Great Commission. Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all nations.
Gospel-Centered: Jesus Christ is the hope we offer. Salvation is by grace through faith in Him alone. We do not compromise this truth.
Authentic Love: Our friendships are real, not manipulative. We share Jesus because we care, not to check a box.
Cultural Respect: We honor cultures, we learn from people, listen well, and communicate the Gospel with sensitivity.
Prayer-Powered: We depend on the Holy Spirit, not our own cleverness. Prayer and spiritual warfare are foundational to everything we do.
Church-Connected: We believe healthy Christians are part of local churches, and new believers need to be discipled within Christian community.
Excellence in Training: Equip Disciples thoroughly and support them consistently. We don’t send people unprepared into cross-cultural ministry.
Global Disciples is an initiative for everyday SDA Christians who want to obey the Great Commission but thought they couldn’t. It mobilizes everyday Christians to build genuine friendships with individuals from vastly different backgrounds and cultures around the world, sharing the love of Christ and making disciples across cultures through weekly digital connections. Volunteers spend time connecting online with people from underserved or isolated communities, many who are displaced, marginalized, or seeking connection. Through authentic friendship, cultural exchange, and supported relationships, we break down barriers and create lasting bridges of understanding.
Ever wonder what it would be like to truly know someone from a completely different world, not just read about them in the news? Global Disciples is for people who want genuine cross-cultural friendship.
Here’s how it works: you spend about an hour a week video chatting with someone from another culture. Maybe they’re a refugee navigating life in a new country. Maybe they’re in a place where connecting with the outside world isn’t easy. Maybe they’re simply looking for a real friend who sees them as a person, not a statistic.
You’re not signing up to rescue anyone or solve global problems. You’re simply being a friend. Talking about life, sharing stories about your families, learning from each other’s perspectives, discovering things you’d never learn from books or articles.
And here’s the truth: you’ll probably gain as much as you give. There’s something transformative about connecting with someone who sees the world through an entirely different lens. It expands your understanding in ways nothing else can.
It’s one hour a week. You receive comprehensive training, so you feel confident and prepared. You have ongoing support throughout your journey. And you might just make a friend who changes how you see the world.
The “Why People Join”
Most of us recognize that our daily lives can feel somewhat limited. Work, study, home, familiar faces, predictable conversations. Global Connectors offers a way to expand your world without leaving your house.
You apply. We train you thoroughly and thoughtfully. Then you begin connecting with someone from literally across the globe. An hour a week, that’s less time than most of us spend on social media.
People join for different reasons. Some are curious about other cultures. Some want to make a meaningful difference but have limited free time. Some are seeking purpose in their weekly routine. Some feel a deeper calling to bridge cultural divides.
Whatever brings you here, you’ll develop a genuine friendship. Not a charity project, not a one-sided exchange. A real friendship where both people truly care about each other.
Be prepared: this experience will likely change you in profound ways. It becomes difficult to maintain a narrow worldview when you have a friend in Pakistan, India, Syria, or Turkey sharing their life with you every week.
What it is: You spend an hour weekly connecting with someone from another culture or country who needs meaningful friendship.
What it provides: Comprehensive training to help you feel confident, a supportive community to guide you, and a friendship that broadens your worldview.
Time commitment: 45-60 minutes weekly. That’s genuinely all that’s required.
Why people value it: Because it’s authentic. No performance, no hidden agenda, no pressure. Just two people connecting across a divide that usually keeps us separate.
Why people stay: Once you’ve developed a friendship with someone halfway across the world, the relationship becomes something you genuinely treasure and prioritize.
What you’ll gain: A deeper understanding of the world, a meaningful friendship, and a weekly reminder that we’re all more similar than different.
